No Candy

Is it just me or when kids get a hold of candy it’s a switch goes off? I’m sure it’s just me..
But for real. I have 2 boys, 4.5 & 2.5 and they get CRAY CRAY after they eat candy.
I dread holidays like Halloween, Valentine’s, Easter, well, every holiday I guess! They always get boat loads of candy and ask for it every single day, even if we hide it. My middle child knows EXACTLY where it is- he’s pretty much too smart for his own good.
When I found this image above- I was like, YES, something other than candy! Give me all the books, toys and things they NEED! Can I get an Amen? Amen!
So the boys will be getting Bibles, a new book, bug catchers and kites. My little girl will be getting teethers, baby foods and a new book.
Bibles- Walmart, Bug Catchers- Target Dollar Section (love that place), Books- Scholastic books online— BAM! Happy Kiddos on Easter!
I’m going to pass this along to my friend who has a 4 year old!!
Awesome! Thank you!
These are such great ideas! I started really questioning sugar after my daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer (RIP) but it wasn’t until a year ago that I started restricting it. They never ate TONS of sugary sweets, but every Christmas & Easter were always tough, and their Nana always sent candy boxes for other holidays. Heck, every time they got rewarded for good grades or behavior, candy was all they thought about, and I found it difficult to come up with alternatives. This list/blog definitely helps… BIG TIME!
P.S. Found your blog through LinkedIn. I also attended Olivet College.
